I love a good bathroom renovation! And I love beautiful computer-generated renderings to show the client exactly what her new bathroom could look like.

This client simply asked for an updated tub and larger shower. You will see in the below "before" images, she now has a very large triangular shaped jet tub and a very small, oddly-shaped shower.

With cost in mind, keeping the tub in the same general location would be the most efficient. Moving the drain too far could become very costly. The tub will also look beautiful directly under the existing window.

In order to get a larger shower and still have enough space to enter the tub, we will extend it in front of the closet door on the right. Luckily, this is a double door leading into the closet and the client is find removing one of the doors.

With safety in mind, a bench running along the back wall provides a resting space and easy access to the tub.

I also added a half wall to the front of the shower to provide a location for not only easily accessible shower handles but a grab bar could be installed for assistance when entering the shower.

This half wall will also line up with the existing one next to the tub keeping the room looking cohesive.

By running the tile along the back wall all the way across the tub, it gives the illusion of larger shower or "wet room" without enclosing the entire space with glass. This keeps the cost down for the shower enclosure and also keeps it warmer. One of the negatives of a large shower enclosure is cold air entering the space.

The built-in bench will be the same height as the tub and flow easily across the wall using a simple seamless quartz product. The existing cabinetry will be painted a taupe color (I'm thinking Tone Taupe by Sherwin Williams) and updated with new countertops to match the tub and bench top.

Final selections (including tile and wall paint) have not been chosen yet but I am liking the style I have included in the above renderings.

Simple. Clean. Elegant.
