Spa Oasis

My favorite master bedroom and bathroom paint colors are Sherwin Williams SW 6204 Sea Salt and SW 6211 Rainwashed. This particular bathroom was done in Rainwashed. It goes well with grey or beige and gives you that relaxing spa feeling you crave.

The tile used in this space was very simple and beige in color so I contrasted this with the hexagon mosaic tile. This hexagon tile has a mix of stone, glass, and chrome tiles. It added that sparkle I like to put in every bathroom.

The sparkle chandelier over the tub and the silk curtain by the window add a feeling of luxury to the space. The large tub from Signature Hardware has room for two and the wall mounted faucet offers a cascading waterfall to enhance that spa sensation.

This large 2 sink vanity gave plenty of room for these framed mirrors. The addition of individual sconces above each mirror provides just enough ambient lighting to see in the space.

I kept the room bright with the white cabinets and white trim but the addition of the swirling granite countertop adds a natural element to the room.

I used a shade lighter of paint (Sherwin Williams SW 6204 Sea Salt ) on the walls in the adjoining master bedroom. Since this room has so much natural light, I had no worries when picking a darker paint shade for the ceiling. The color is Sherwin Williams SW 9133 Jasper Stone. The contrast of the bright white beams really makes a statement.

You would have no issues relaxing in this Spa Oasis of a bedroom and bathroom!

3D Rendering

The capabilities of computer-aided 3D rendering is incredible! It allows you the option to see first hand exactly how your room and space will look and feel. Depending on the materials selected, there is almost always a way to make the computer drawing as close to real life as possible. Sometimes the light fixtures or the colors wont match exactly to real life items but the masses in the space will always provide a great visual reference.
Picture
In this case, the pendants and cabinet layouts were able to be placed almost exactly to the final room. These renderings are a great way to see exactly what that navy island and glass pendants will look like.

Maybe your considering a green island instead of navy? Maybe you want to see a different lighting fixture over the island? While this is hard for a lot of people to imagine, I can provide these drawings with endless options for you to see.

These can be done for a new construction project or an existing room needed renovation. All I need is either a floor plan with dimensions or pictures of the space and dimensions. A simple layout showing the locations of the standard fixtures (sink, range, refrigerator), and let the drawing begin!

Blue Tiled Shower

When working in small bathrooms, people tend to lean to white and light colors because they are concerned that adding color will make the room feel small. I am here to tell you it is all about balance!

This particular bathroom is not only small but it has a sloped ceiling which makes it feel even smaller. I found this great blue subway tile and immediately knew it would be perfect in this shower.

By adding the white grout, it keeps it from looking too heavy. And by laying the tile on the shower, it draws your eye up creating a taller space. The blue tile itself has slightly rustic edges so I complemented this with the wood floor tile.
Picture
To keep it balanced and not too dark, I painted the walls a light Eider White color by Sherwin Williams and stayed with a white cabinet. The addition of the white Quartz countertop keeps this piece light and airy.

Because of the slope in the ceiling, we did not have room for a standard vanity light - hence the backlit mirror from IB Mirror. I love these mirrors! Not only did it give this room ample amounts of light, but the outer glow provides the perfect shade of light for applying makeup.

The glass shower enclosure and the stainless finish on the plumbing fixtures added that final touch of sparkle to the room.

Though she be but little, she is fierce!

Gold & Marble Master Bath

For Dibros Corp.
This client knew exactly what he wanted: marble, marble, more marble, and some gold finishes. We made it happen!

Most marble tiles come in a gloss finish. While this is the ideal way to see marble, it is not ideal for a bathroom floor where water can create a slippery mess. The trick here was to find a polished marble mosaic for the walls, semi-polished for the floors, and matte for the shower floors all while matching a marble countertop. It would have been great if one distributor carried these but of course that was not a case. It took some researching and traveling to find the perfect matching marble tiles in the correct finishes.
Picture
After finding the perfect marble materials, we had to design the space. Based on a photograph the client provided and sizes of the tile we found, we were able to design this fabulous bathroom. The additional of the etched glass sinks and the gold finishes were the final touch of sparkle needed.

We also added some LED tape lighting in the vanity toe kick and under the each sink to create a nice glow. When designing the mirror trim I wanted bold statement lights on each side of the sink. I found these gold fixtures in the "outdoor" lighting section and couldn't be more excited. They were just the right combination of size, gold and glass to compliment the rest of the LED glow.

We didn't stop there though - The niche was installed with custom glass shelving and the crown molding was added to the tops of the blue-grey walls. Hard to see in this picture, but we painted all of the interior doors a matte black finish that really provided the contrast needed in this home.

Floating Entertainment Center

This custom entertainment center came out even better than I had imagined it could! It started out as a simple floating built-in unit and evolved from there.

We decided to expand the "floating" aspect by adding hidden LED tape lighting around the read side. With a simple click of a button, the light turns on and the unit appears to be floating and radiates off the wall. We added the faux wood panels to the rear side of each opening to provide a solid feeling.

Juxtaposed with the Craftsman style ceiling beams, it brings this traditional feeling ceiling to a new contemporary look. The ceiling itself was painted 2 shades darker than the walls to make those beams pop. The windows located between each ceiling "box" draws your eye up and will provide ambient amounts of natural lighting into this room.

The unit only sticks off the wall about 14" giving just enough space for books and accessories without intruding into the room. Even with the dark wood background on the wall, by painting the unit white it mimics the ceiling beams and gives it a light airy feeling.

This unit would look amazing in any home!

From Design to Finished Pergola

When designing this pergola, I wanted to stick with the traditional look but add some contemporary swagger - Hence the addition of the metal railings.

A traditional pergola is a wide-open structure with four support beams, no walls, and a decorative roof design, such as a lattice. Since this one is on a second story, we needed a safety railing. A simple wooden railing would have sufficed just fine but the black metal railing brought it up a notch!
Picture
The contrast between the soft white wood and the hard black metal is just what i was looking for. We built each column out with shaker-style trim details for the railing to have sometime to attach to. We did have some code issues we had to address, such as the length of the metal railing. So on the far side you will see that we added short wooden columns. This kept the railing length down and by keeping them short, it keeps the view open.

Picture
Commercial Gates and Electric were a pleasure the work with. They saw my vision and built the railing exactly as I had requested. It was measured on site, built at there shop, and when installed - fit like a glove!

We enjoy this porch much more now with all of our upgrades!
