Rustic Charm Design Board

This bathroom started with this amazing reclaimed barn wood custom vanity I found on houzz.com. It gives a rough farmhouse look but can be softened with the addition of the white rectangle vessel sink. You could always dress it up with a round vessel sink but I like the straight lines and square edges of this particular one matched with the bold vanity base.

The detail on the mirror is bent metal and resembles one of those vintage tobacco baskets you have been seeing everywhere (thanks to Pottery Barn). And the single 3-light vanity light has just enough wood and metal to mesh without going overboard. 

Keeping with the rustic feel, I added this semi-polished tile from the Tesoro line Blocks, color white. This tile comes in so many great sizes! I would use the large 18" x 36" size for the walls, stacked (less room for grout lines), the 12" x 24" for the bathroom flooring and the 2" x 2" for the shower floor. All stacked with coordinating grout for a modern feel. The textured look contrasts beautifully with the small sparkly chevron mosaic tile used on the back of niche.
